Greetings couch travellers and blog followers! We have been travelling north since we last chatted, stopping at the town of Springbok where I assume their rugby team all come from, then through the SA-Namibia border at Noordoewer, which took about an hour and a half which i understand is pretty quick as far as African border crossings go.

Stayed our first night in Namibia in cool cabins overlooking the Orange River. Lots of wildflowers on the drive – orange, yellow and purple mainly. We are stopping every couple of hours to stretch legs or grab something to eat or drink. The towns are fairly sparse and not much wildlife or vegetation along the straight roads.
Day 3 Already the land is looking pretty dry away from the Orange River which forms the border with South Africa, with the occasional irrigated area creating the odd oasis. I won’t be waxing lyrically about our travels over the last few days but will do a photo dump and a brief synopsis of the trek so far. Today it’s 130km to Fish River Canyon where we did a gentle walk along the rim of the canyon. We then headed for Keetmanshoop where we stayed overnight.

Tomorrow it’s onto Namib-Naukluft National Park with a long and bumpy 470 km drive. Thanks for the comments!
Thanks for the history lesson, learning a lot about Africa 🤗
