Smooth transfer and boarding – settled in with the obligatory champagne – ready for takeoff when it was announced that an engineering issue had emerged that may cause significant delay. Apparently the air bridge hit the plane when moving and engineers are now assessing the damage while Qantas staff in terminal are making tentative arrangements for us to disembark…. It was all going so well (and they aren’t refilling champagne)
