So our day didn’t pan out the way we had hoped. The plane crashed into the aerobridge or vice versa. Regardless the plane wasn’t going anywhere…

So after Qantas worked out wtf to do, we were booked into the Pullman Airport Hotel and given directions to a shuttle bus to get there. We couldn’t check into the room until 2pm so had a bite to eat and started cancelling the arrangements we had made for arrival in J’burg.
So, how to kill an afternoon/evening in the 3rd worst city in the world for making new friends?

We hit the Gallery of NSW which was showing the Archibald Prize exhibitions. Who knew we would find culture in Sydney?

Wandered across to the Opera House to get the compulsory ‘money shots’ then to a bar in The Rocks for a pint of G.

We stumbled across the Wrexham FC team (well their bus) – after flogging Victory last night in Melbourne I hope they are making new friends in Sydney tonight (but unlikely given the facts presented earlier).

Back at the Pullman watching the Tigers now (currently leading the Dons.) Tomorrow we will be up early and try and leave the country again. (Are We There Yet?) Will keep you posted…
